Trip Overview

This 4-day Bwindi Gorilla Safari begins with an early departure from Kampala/Entebbe/Jinja, leading you on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On Day 2, enjoy an early breakfast, followed by a briefing and trek to see the gorillas, with lunch and a relaxing spa session upon your return. Day 3 features a guided nature walk or bird-watching, along with gin and wine tasting, capped off with a cultural visit to the local Batwa community. On Day 4, you’ll have breakfast before heading back to Kampala, with a lunch stop en-route, concluding your unforgettable safari experience.

Day 1: Departure from Kampala to Bwindi

You will be picked up at your accommodation by 5 AM and driven to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the Mbarara route. Along the way, there will be a few stops, including a visit to the Equator line in Mpigi District, where you can enjoy the difference between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and shop at the local African market. Afterward, you’ll continue to the park, stopping for lunch e-route.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Spa Moment

You’ll wake up early at 6 AM to prepare for your gorilla tracking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, it’s important to wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be hiking considerable distances in search of the gorillas. After your tracking experience, you’ll return for lunch before enjoying a soothing massage at the spa to relax your muscles. Spend the evening unwinding and getting ready for the next day.

Day 3: Nature Walk, Birding, Gin and Wine Experience, and Community Visit

You’ll rise at 8 AM for breakfast and prepare for an exciting day ahead. You’ll embark on a nature walk and go birding to identify some of the many bird species found in the forest, as Uganda is home to nearly half of the world’s bird population. After lunch, you’ll partake in a gin and wine tasting experience before visiting the local Batwa community. Finally, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Departure Back to Kampala

On your last day, you’ll enjoy a luscious breakfast before checking out of the lodge and heading back to Kampala, concluding your unforgettable safari experience.
